Young Writers’ Competition : Where are our new writers?

Theatr Clwyd is keen to foster and encourage the next generation of writers and is putting a call out for previous winners of the Theatr Clwyd Young Writers Competition to get in touch with them online using Zoom. The competition has been part of the Daniel Owen Festival for many years and in that time some amazingly talented young writers have had their work performed at the Festival.

During the week of the festival Theatr Clwyd will host two online workshops on script writing for the previous winners. The 2020 Theatr Clwyd Young Writers Competition will be launched to write a concept for a script or a short script to be developed into a play.

There will be a second round of online workshops before Christmas and shortlisting for the winning concept for a script or a short script will take place towards the end of January 2021. The winning author will then be commissioned and supported to prepare the play to be performed at Theatr Clwyd.
