A Blue Plaque for Daniel
Exciting news – we’ve been awarded £519.75 by Flintshire Community Chest to help fund a blue plaque at Cae’r Ffynnon on Denbigh Road, Mold. We need to find the remaining 25% which is £173.25 and the race is on to do so to be able to announce the achievement by the Daniel Owen Festival from the 20 to 27 October.
Cae’r Ffynnon is the house that Daniel Owen built after the success of his novel Rhys Lewis. He moved here with her sister in 1889 from his home in Long Row, across the road. When she died a year later Daniel Owen moved closer to his shop in New Street.
A worthy place for a blue plaque!
