Gig celebrating Theatr Clwyd Young Writer’s Competition

One of the highlights of the Daniel Owen Festival is the annual Theatr Clwyd Young Writer’s Competition. The photograph shows playwright Branwen Davies (left) with two of the 2016 winning writers: Rachel Carr (centre) and Rebecca Barnard (right).
This year, the theme of the competition is ‘Peace’.

Professional actors will bring the stories to life as they read the winning entries at the award ceremony and the winner will receive their cash prize and crystal trophy. The winner from each category will become one of Theatr Clwyd’s young writers for the year and have the opportunity to work with professional writers and further develop their writing skills.
This year the award evening will in the form of a gig so come and be delighted by this fun-filled and thought provoking event which celebrates and encourages young people’s literary creativity. Invite all your friends!
